THE INVESTMENT CLUB

At theFoodTechLab we have identified what we consider to be the industry transformation vectors with the most potential for development. Our permanent contact with the sector allows us to identify the initiatives that are being developed in each of these vectors.

We have built a network of investors linked to the agri-food sector that help us with project selection for their development.

We have a network of collaborators specialized in different technologies who participate in the analysis of projects.
The network of investors and members are also a source of project identification.

Thus, when we invest in a company, we do so with the commitment to become part of the team to support its development.

We invest in companies that have already passed their seed stage and that are thinking of financing their first stages of commercial development.

We want to participate at this stage of development with our knowledge.

TALKING NUMBERS

We invest between 100k and 500k per project, as the sole investor in the round or together with other investors. We play the role of lead Investor in some cases. Our maximum involvement term is 5 years.

Juan Cividanes Roger

MANAGING PARTNER

Economist, MBA from IESE (1.992-1.994). Started his career at KPMG. After a period at Decathlon, founded the first European e-commerce for the sale of football kits. In 2.011 he joined Xesgalicia as General Director, a Venture Capital Management Company, with five funds under his management with a net worth of 200 million €. In 2014, he participated in the constitution of one of the first Venture Capital funds in Spain. Developed an open innovation model for the Xunta de Galicia, constituting the Business Factory Auto with PSA, Business Factory Food with Pescanova group, Calvo group, Coren. Business Factory Aero with Indra, Babcock and Airbus and finally Business Factory Bio with Yansen.

For the last 25 years he has been linked to the agri-food sector. Commercial Director at Conservas Antonio Alonso S.A. Participated in the constitution of newly created projects in the agri-food sector: Involved in the Purchase of the Clesa yogurt factory by a group of dairy cooperatives, constitution of the first dairy protein drying plant under infant food production protocols, as well as financial restructuring of large seafood companies.

Ricardo Nadal

MANAGING PARTNER

Mining Engineer (Master’s degree in Energy) and MBA from IESE, with more than 25 years’ experience working in investment banking and corporate banking. Founding partner at RN2 ADVISORS in 2017, where he advised Zamora Company in the development and execution of its Corporate Expansion Plan, closing FIVE acquisition operations throughout the years 2017 and 2018: Martin Miller Gin (UK), Yellow Rose Whisky (US), Villa Massa Limoncello (Italy), Sangria Lolea (Spain), El Afilador Aguardiente (Spain). Expert in Corporate Finance and Corporate Banking with more than 20 years’ experience in the sector; developing international expansion projects, strategy, mergers, acquisitions, advice, business development and financing. Leading investment projects in China, Turkey and Latin America for an amount greater than 10 billion euros.
